Preserve Calaveras’s Campaign to Save Open Spaces (SOS) – NCA supports this campaign to ensure open spaces do not disappear in Carlsbad. This is a joint effort with Preserve Calaveras to protect the Buena Vista Creek Valley adjacent to the Buena Vista Creek Ecological Reserve from excess development. This area has been identified as one of the 12 most endangered historic sites in all of San Diego County. In 2008, the Carlsbad Citizen’s Open Space Committee ranked this area the #1 priority parcel to preserve in the ENTIRE city!
